Day 4 Taita Hills. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

We’ll wake with the first rays of the sun and head out on a morning game drive, hoping to see predators feast after a night of hunting. Tsavo is famous for the man eater lions who, to date, carry a bizarre history long after they terrorized, maimed, and killed construction workers of the Kenya-Uganda Railway in 1898. The railway construction was abruptly halted by the most voracious and insatiable man-eating lions. Return to the lodge for breakfast and check out. Then a short transfer to the Taita Hills Game Reserve (1 hour on paved road). Arrive at the legendary Salt Lick Lodge for lunch. The lodge is located right in the heart of the park and has a watering hole. Numerous animals come to quench their thirst, and you can watch this natural spectacle right from the restaurant terrace. A tunnel with windows runs underneath the watering hole for close-up viewing. After lunch, we’ll head out on an evening game drive. Our experienced ranger will do his best to point out as many wild animals as possible. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

The topography is generally mountainous, which offers breathtaking landscape views of the Kilimanjaro, Pare, Uluguru mountains, and the clusters of Taita Hills. More than 50 species of large mammals and 300 species of birds have been recorded. Return to the lodge for breakfast and checking out.

This will be our final wildlife experience. At 10:30 AM, we’ll be transferred to VOI railway station for the train to Mombasa. At 2:00 PM, we’ll arrive at East Africa’s main seaport and the ancient city of Mombasa. Transfer to a coastal hotel for some relaxation by the ocean. Day 6 Diani. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

MOMBASA is a coastal city in southeastern Kenya, on the shores of the Indian Ocean. It was the first capital of British East Africa until Nairobi became the capital in 1907. The city soon became a major trading center in East Africa, mainly trading spices, slaves, coconuts, and ivory. Commercial ties reached the mainland of India and China. Over the centuries, the city changed hands – the Arabs, the Portuguese, the Sultanate of Oman, and in 1840, Mombasa was taken by the Sultan of Zanzibar, who later gave it to the British. It became a protectorate of Great Britain, which made Mombasa a sea gate and railway station.

Tourists enjoy some types of safaris, and since the beach is perfect for snorkeling, diving, and much more, this is why Mombasa has been a popular tourist destination for the past 100 years. On the other hand, Mombasa is not only famous for its beaches. The destination is well known as an ancient city that existed from the first to the fifth century.

Mombasa is now Kenya’s main port and the capital of Mombasa County. The city is known as the “white and blue city” in Kenya, also for its calm pace amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life, so the slogan “Hakuna matata” – a Swahili phrase meaning “no problem” or “don’t worry” – reflects the reality of a slow life.

After a leisurely breakfast overlooking the ocean, we’ll check out and head out on a tour of the old town. We’ll see the first post office and hotel, the old mosque and port, and stroll through the narrow streets of the ancient city. Transfer to Africa’s best beach – Diani Beach! The journey takes about an hour. We’ll arrive at the resort, which boasts the motto “where leopards meet lobsters”. Lunch, relaxation on the beach, sundowner cruise on a canoe, dinner, and overnight stay in Diani Beach.
