Tour Plan

Day 1 Voigtland

Meet and greet anr the airport, transfer to the Voigtland Guesthouse. Voigtland Guesthouse is delightfully different and combines an atmosphere of old world charm with a unique modern style. Meet Namibia’s cutest giraffes during your stay. Originally built around 1900, the house is set on the slopes of a hill in a spacious landscape of trees, lawns and gardens. Turn your stay into a highlight with our luxurious high-tea, followed by an unbelievable giraffe feeding experience right by your table.

Day 2 Drive to – Sossusvlei

Pick up in the morning. Leaving Windhoek, on route south to Sossusvlei via scenic Spreetshoogte Pass – one of the most spectacular places of Namibia. Stop-over for lunch in the Solitaire, oasis in the Namib Desert. Arrival at the lodge for rest and dinner in the afternoon.

Distance: 350 km on gravel road.

Duration: 5 hours with stop-overs and lunch break.

Day 3 Sossusvlei

Early morning before sunrise, 70 km scenic drive through Sesriem Gate to Sossusvlei – place of the highest dunes of the World, which was recently inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list as the ‚Sand Sea’. Option of climbing picturesque Dune 45 to experience beauty and vastness of fascinating orange-colored landscape. After the climb, 5 km off-road 4×4 trail to visit surreal Deadvlei, a place of vast clay pan and dried-up, ancient acacias standing silent in an impressive landscape. Break for lunch. In the afternoon visit at Sesriem Canyon and Elim Dune.

Distance: around 200 km on tar, gravel and sand roads

Day 4 Drive to Swakopmund

Adventure starts after breakfast, as we travel through the Namib-Naukluft Park to Swakopmund, passing by canyons and fascinating rock formations. Magnificent landscape of the Namib reaches as far as eye can see. Wildlife and grazing antelopes:  oryx and springbuck, mountain zebras, giraffes and World’s biggest birds that don’t fly – ostriches. On route, celebrating crossing of the Tropic of Capricorn (famous geographical line) – time for pictures! On arrival in Walvis Bay visit to lagoon for close encounter with flamingos.

Day 5 Swakopmund

Today you have time for optional activities on the coast.

Day 6 Drive to Damaraland

Travelling on the coastal salt-road leading us 150 km north to the Cape Cross and the Cape Fur Seal colony. After observing huge family of these aquatic mammals, we are turning east into desert region of Damaraland, traveling towards mountainous Brandberg Massif, one of the most magnificent and majestic places of Namibia. On the way, passing by Damara villages in the communal area, en route chance to spot ostriches, jackals, hyenas and springboks.

Distance: 350 km (gravel road, including 160 km salt road).

Duration: around 8 hrs.

Day 7 Twyfelfontein

Wildlife Sanctuary! We are on the way to Etosha National Park – wildlife sanctuary and treasure of Namibia, considered to be one of the most loved and most visited game parks of Africa! We are welcomed by wild animals and white sand of the plains. During afternoon game ride, admiring variety of magnificent animals, among them big mammals: antelopes, giraffes, zebras as well as huge elephants (largest in Africa), rhino, lions, leopards, cheetah and hyenas roaming through the bush.

Arrival at Anderson Gate of Etosha in the afternoon, we have enough time for afternoon game drive around the Park.

Day 8 Kaokoland

Today we are discovering beauty of Twyfelfontein rock engravings, UNESCO World Heritage site – one of the largest concentration of petroglyphs in Africa. We will admire most interesting petroglyphs, out of over 2000 works, created centuries ago in the rusty-orange rocks by San people, Bushmen inhabitants of these regions. The site forms a coherent, extensive and high-quality record of ritual practices relating to hunter-gatherer communities in this part of southern Africa and eloquently illustrates the links between the ritual and economic practices of hunter-gatherers.

Visit to Damara Village “Living Museum”

Day 13 Departure

After breakfast, we are venturing further into Kaokoland, to Opuwo, capital of this northern region. The next day we will meet semi-nomadic Himba tribe. One of the last, pastoral tribes on Earth, who continue to keep their traditional ancient way of life, as they did for hundreds of years. Unique chance for ethnic photography!

Duration: around 8 hrs including breaks for picture-taking and lunch.

Day 9 Himba Village
Day 12 Etosha National Park

In the morning, unforgettable visit to the Himba village, learning about their nomadic way of life. Unique opportunity to observe exotic culture and customs. The Himba are a tribe of semi-nomadic pastoralis, who inhabit the Kaokoland, in northern Namibia. They have clung to their traditions, and the beautiful Himba women are noted for their orange-colored skin, intricate hairstyles and traditional jewelry. Himba men and women wear few clothes, apart from a loin cloth or goat-skin mini-skirt, they rub their bodies with mixture of red ocher and animal fat to protect themselves against sun, insects and to condition their skin. It gives Himba’s skin characteristic rich, red color. Himba jewelry is made from iron, animal skin or shell, and due to the intricate designs, have become very popular among the visiting tourists. Visit at the Himba village creates superb opportunity for spectacular ethnic photography! After morning adventure, time for lunch and afternoon rest.

After visit to the Himba village we are heading further north in direction of Kunene River to admire Epupa Falls. Kunene creates natural border between Namibia and Angola.

On arrival at Epupa Falls, visit the falls.

In the late afternoon we will climb Kapika Hill to admire the falls with the setting sun.

Distance: 180 km on gravel roads, including travel to Himba village.

Day 10 Drive to Etosha National Park

Today full day unlimited game drive in Etosha National Park, from sunrise till sunset.

Game drive in Etosha on the safari trails in search for wildlife: Elephants, Rhino, Zebras, various game, Oryx, Kudu, Wildebeest, Impala, Springbok, Sable, Giraffes, Hyenas and big cats of Africa: Lion, Leopard and Cheetah inhabiting the vast savannas. Return to the camp before dinner.

Day 11 Etosha National Park

After last visit to the waterhole, leaving Etosha in the morning and heading south to Windhoek ‚back to civilization’. On the way, visit to an open-air craft market in Okahandja. Wonderful opportunity to purchase hand-made curios and African souvenirs.
We will drop you off at the airport.

Day 12 Etosha National Park

Today after sunrise, full day unlimited game drive from sunrise until sunset in Etosha National Park, close encounter with African wildlife! We are exploring eastern and western trails of Etosha, visiting waterholes on the way, excellent opportunity for wildlife photography. Return to the camp before the sunset and before closing of the gates. After dinner, nature spectacle at the waterhole. Live ‚theater of nature’…till late at night, where thirsty wildlife gather for a sip of water!

Be it a Lion or an Elephant, a Giraffe or a Zebra; almost all African animal species are represented in this huge nature reserve. Inhabiting a ginormous area of 22,912 square kilometers, there is an estimated number of 250 Lions in the park, 300 Rhinos, 2 500 Giraffes, 6 000 Zebras and more than 2 000 Elephants. Variety of antelope species: Oryx, Kudu, Eland, Wildebeast and Black-faced Impala live in Etosha. The dainty Springbok are especially numerous; at least 20 000 of them roam the reserve. Often, they can be observed in enormous herds of several hundred animals. In Etosha, 114 mammal species are found, several are rare and endangered e.g. Black Rhino (largest number in the world), Cheetah, Hyena and Leopard. Etosha’s Elephants are the largest in Africa,  measuring up to 4m. About 340 bird species, as well as various species of reptiles, rodents and snakes are also found in the area.

Etosha has about 60 springs and waterholes that provide excellent game viewing and fantastic, wildlife photographic opportunities! Visitors should approach and depart from waterholes slowly, with as little noise as possible, as not to disturb the game. There are three most popular rest camps at the park: Okaukuejo, Halali and Namutoni, accommodating the visitors in the luxurious, thatch-roof bungalows, designed in an African style. Each camp features scenic waterhole, as well as a leisure area with restaurants, shops and a swimming pool for the guests.

Day 13 Departure
