Uganda is a country in East Africa. It is part of the British Commonwealth. It comes from the word Buganda – ganda is the name of the local tribe, bu – an indicator of the belonging of the land to the tribe. The autonomy of the 5 kingdoms is recognized. It is inhabited by Bantu peoples, Nilotes, and other representatives of Central African tribes.

It borders on Sudan in the north, the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the west, Rwanda and Tanzania in the south, and Kenya in the east. Lake Victoria is in the southeast. Tour Plan

Day 1 Entebbe-Jinja

Arrival at Entebbe airport, a city on the coast of Lake Victoria. Formalities upon arrival – port of health. Prepare a passport of vaccination against yellow fever, a foreign passport. Then go to passport control – present a foreign passport and visa – get a stamp in your passport. Go to the belt with your luggage. After receiving your bags, you will be asked to put all your luggage, including hand luggage, on the X-ray machine for inspection. There are ATMs on the right side of the arrivals hall – withdraw local currency. It is better to exchange in the city at the forex bureau – the rate is better. You will be met by a driver. Minivan transport. Cards and Ugandan shillings are accepted in Uganda.

Transfer to Jinja. Distance 127 km, 2 hours on the road (depending on traffic). It is advisable to buy a SIM card with Internet access for about 10 thousand shillings. You can also ask the driver to top up the Internet (BANDELS) from his phone with compensation. For dinner, you can stay in the capital of Uganda, Kampala, in one of the local restaurants – a set dinner usually includes goat or chicken with soup, side dishes, and juice for 20 thousand shillings, or in Cafe Javas – continental cuisine from 45 thousand shillings. Or order dinner upon arrival at the hotel in Jinja. Check in at Afro Smile Hotel and Guest House-Jinja BB or similar.

Day 2 Jinja - Lake Victoria - Source of the Nile - Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early Breakfast, transfer to Lake Victoria. Lake Victoria is a lake in East Africa, located on the equator, in the tectonic depression of the East African platform at an altitude of 1134 m. The area is 68 thousand km², the volume is 2760 km³. It is the second-largest freshwater lake in the world (after Lake Superior). The greatest length is 320 km, and the width is 274 km. The average depth is 40 m (the greatest is 80 m). After the construction of the Owen Falls Dam in 1954, the lake was turned into a reservoir. There are many islands on the lake; the largest is Ukerewe. The full-flowing Kagera River flows into it, the Victoria Nile River flows out, and then joins the white and blue Nile. Fishing (more than 100 species of fish, many endemics) and shipping are developed on the lake. The main ports are Mwanza, Bukoba (Tanzania), Entebbe, Jinja (Uganda), and Kisumu (Kenya). The lake was discovered and named in honor of Queen Victoria by the British traveler John Henning Speke in 1858.

At one of the piers, the boat captain will organize a walk around the lake. You will see many birds nesting on the coast, and then you will go to the sources of the Nile, where you can take a photo session at the monument.

Try to leave Jinja before 10 am. There is a long road ahead, but with stunning views and landscapes in the Queen Elizabeth National Park in the west of the country. The distance is 365 km, and the journey takes up to 8 hours. The driver will recommend a place where it is better to stop for lunch. Arrival at Engiri Game Lodge FB or similar for dinner. During dinner, ask the staff to prepare lunch boxes for you to take with breakfast. Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most visited protected area by tourists, located in the west of the country on an area of ​​1,978 km² between Lake George and Lake Edward around the connecting Kazinga Channel. The park is home to more mammal species than any other park in Uganda – 95 species, inhabiting both savannah and forest. Among them are elephants, buffalos, hippos, mongooses, warthogs, 10 species of primates (chimpanzees, black and white monkeys, olive baboons, red-tailed and green monkeys and others), about 20 species of predators (lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, side-striped jackals and others), antelopes (waterbucks, forest antelopes, water antelopes, topi antelopes, shy nakong antelopes).

Day 3 Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early breakfast (don’t forget your lunch boxes) and check out, transfer to the gates of Elizabeth Park. Get ready for chimpanzee trekking, a water safari (cruise) along the Kazinga Channel. In the direction of the reserve in the park, where chimpanzees live, you will see a variety of wildlife, and the driver will try to show you tribes of lions. Before the chimpanzee trekking, you will be given a short briefing on how to behave in THEIR forest. Depending on the success of the safari, a cruise along the Kazinga Channel, connecting Lake Edward and Lake George, can start either at 11 am or at 3 pm. The duration of the cruise is 2 hours. During the water safari, you will be able to see most of the animals living in the park. At the end of the cruise, check in at one of the lodges of the park.

Day 4 Queen Elizabeth National Park -Drive to Bwindi Forest National Park

Breakfast, morning safari. Then there is a trip to Bwindi Forest, 180 km and about 6 hours on the road. Check in at Bwindi Guest House AI and dinner (notify the lodge staff to prepare lunch boxes for breakfast).

Bwindi Jungle is a national park in the southwestern part of Uganda, part of the Bwindi Forest. The area is 331 km². The park consists of lowland and mountain jungles. It can only be reached on foot. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bwindi is one of the richest ecosystems in Africa. It is home to 340 mountain gorillas, which is almost half of their total number.

Day 5 Bwindi Forest National Park - Mbarara

Early breakfast and transfer to the Bwindi Park office. In the morning, the park can be cool, 17-20 degrees, and rainy – take a sweater and raincoat just in case. At 8 am, the guide will hold a briefing. During the briefing, tell the guide that you need to return to Kampala today, so that he will put you in the first group for trekking. After watching the gorillas, quickly leave in the direction of Kampala. The road is not short – 565 km – about 10 hours on the road over two days. Before the onset of darkness, you will reach the province of Mbara and stop for the night at Nyore Hillside Retreat BB. Order something from the local cuisine for dinner and ask the staff to organize an early breakfast (consult with the driver about the best time to leave for Kampala).

Day 6 Mbara - Kampala - Entebbe - Nairobi

Early breakfast, and transfer to Kampala. The estimated arrival time in the capital of Uganda is 10 am. During the city tour, you will see the most interesting and significant tourist magnets, and you can visit the traditional bazaar with souvenir shops.

Head to Entebbe airport no later than 12 noon. Prepare your medical documents, passport, and visa for control at the health port and passport control. The main restaurant at the airport has a salad bar and a buffet – have lunch before the flight. Departure to Nairobi at 13:40.

Upon arrival, prepare your passports. After receiving your luggage, withdraw Kenyan shillings from an ATM or exchange dollars. Purchase a SIM card with Internet access from your mobile operator. A driver will meet you at the exit of the arrival terminal.

Transfer to the Nairobi hotel, about 30 minutes on the way. Approximate check-in time at the hotel is 16:00. At 19:30, a transfer will be organized to the Safari Park Hotel for the “Cat Show” with dinner, 15 types of meat are served, including crocodile. After the show, return to the hotel for the night.

Day 7 Nairobi-Amboseli

Breakfast and then transfer to the park – about 180 km and 4.5 hours on the road. After lunch, an evening game drive, then return to the lodge for rest and dinner.

Amboseli National Park in Kenya, located in the south of the country on the border with Tanzania. The park offers the best views of the highest peak in Africa – Kilimanjaro, 5895 m. Amboseli is called the home of elephants.

Day 8 Amboseli-Tsavo

Early breakfast and viewing Kilimanjaro. At 6:30, check out and morning safari with a trip to the observation point of Amboseli Park. Large families of elephants, hippos, flocks of birds, cheetah brothers, buffalo, and other ungulates can be found along the way. You must leave the park before 10 am in the direction of the largest park on the planet, which occupies 5% of Kenya’s territory – Tsavo. The journey takes 4.5 hours. If you want to visit the Maasai village, then you need to leave the park at 9 am.

Arrival at the lodge for lunch. After a short rest at 16:00, an evening safari will be organized in East or West Tsavo, depending on the selected lodge category. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 9-12 Tsavo - Diani

The morning safari will begin at 6:30, then breakfast, check-out, and transfer to Mombasa. Arrival at the selected hotel in Mombasa or on Diani before lunch. Free time on the ocean.

Day 13 Diani-Nairobi Departure

Breakfast, check out, transfer to Mombasa or Ukunda airport. Flight to Nairobi for the international flight connection.
